Slhanay Peak Trail

A challenging but rewarding hike, with sweeping views of the third peak of the Stawamus Chief, Howe Sound and Downtown Squamish. The trail immediately enters dense, lush forest and starts climbing up a rugged and boulder filled trail.

Don't let the distance fool you, there is a 600m+ elevation gain on this hike, with some scrambling and route finding necessary. Make sure you find Tony's Lookout to enjoy the park bench and stunning views!

Getting There

Head south from the Adventure Centre on Highway 99, after 2km turn left onto the Mamquam River FSR. Parking for the trailhead is approximately 2km down the Mamquam River FSR on the righthand side, in a small pull out.

Be careful around unprotected cliffs and outcrops.

When the trail is wet or icy, this hike is extremely difficult, so it’s best done on a sunny, warm day.
