Larger than life Squamish views

This full-day hike can be found in the backcountry behind the Stawamus Chief and features stunning views of big Squamish landmarks such as Howe Sound, Mount Garibaldi, the Sky Pilot Massif and Mount Habrich.

The trailhead requires a four-wheel vehicle to access, but hikers can also park lower down the road and walk to reach the start. From the trailhead, you follow a deactivated logging road that cuts through the forest and gradually winds its way to a large open meadow. From the meadow, you will see Mount Mulligan on your left and it's slightly taller neighbour Anif Peak on your right. Head up and left back into the trees where you will head to the summit. This section of the trail offers the best views of Garibaldi Provincial Park to the north, keep an eye out for peek-a-boo views of Mount Garibaldi. The slope to the summit has trees the whole way up, be sure to leave enough time to wander through the trees hunting for the best views.

Getting Here

From the Sea to Sky Highway, turn right onto the Mamquam FSR immediately south of Squamish. Continue along the road for 7km and take a sharp right on an unnamed forest service road, many two-wheel drive vehicles park here. Follow the steep road approximately 2.5km to the upper parking lot.
