Miyiwts Park (Waterfont Landing)

Squamish's newest community park at Waterfront Landing (SEAandSKY) is now open to the public.
Miyiwts Park (Waterfont Landing) offers greenspace, walking and cycling paths, a children's playground area and scenic lookout points as well as a pump track and, soon a basketball court will be available. While some elements of the park are being finalized, most of the park features are complete.
The name of the park is 'Miyíw̓ts', the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh sníchim (Squamish) word for riverbank. The name reflects the channel of the Squamish River that once ended where the park is located. The shoreline adjacent to Miyíw̓ts Park provides a rich marine and intertidal habitat that supports many species of birds, fish and other wildlife. One of the primary goals of the park design is to prioritize ecological restoration and protect the natural shoreline. New soil has been introduced, along with a carefully curated blend of native vegetation, creating a vibrant and diverse landscape that follows sustainable principles.
How to get here
