11 Squamish Trips to Take with Your Dad

Whether it's his first or his fiftieth Father's Day, you can show Dad you care by spending the day with him this Sunday, June 16th. We asked around and made a list of all the best Father's Day activities. From whitewater rafting to golf, here is our list of top Father's Day activities–and we promise he will enjoy these more than a necktie!

1. Challenge Your Skills at Rope Runner Aerial Adventure Park

Take Dad on the adventure of a lifetime where you can both "run the ropes" and ascend rope ladders, balancy bridges and tottering elements that will put a smile on both of your faces. 

2. Go Fishing

Squamish has a variety of fishing areas that will get you and your Dad hooked in no time. Peruse through the local spots here or book a day out with a guide. 3. Go Whitewater Rafting 

Splash around in Squamish's whitewater rivers where families can opt for a more relaxed trip on the Cheakamus River or an exhilarating adventure on the Elaho-Squamish River. Special for Father's Day, Dad's raft free with Canadian Outback Rafting when they book with two paying guests. 4. Play a Round

Take Dad out for a round of golf on one of Squamish’s two spectacular courses. Squamish Valley Golf & Country Club or freshly opened Furry Creek Golf & Country Club. Both courses received major renovations for the season, enjoy!

5. Take a Flight Above Squamish

Take Dad on his a heli or flightseeing trip above Squamish and create a first memory you can both look back on together. 

6. Sample Squamish's Watersports

Hit Howe Sound this Father's day and experience the water while kite surfing, paddle boarding, kayaking or canoeing. Special for Father's Day you can treat Dad to a kite surfing lesson with Aerial Kiteboarding for $90 per hour for two people, they are also offering 50% off paddleboard, canoe and kayaks rentals for dad June 16.

7. Try a Family Sailing Tour

Take the whole family and sail through North America's southernmost fjord. Each sailboat can accommodate 10-12 passengers, so you can choose an intimate setting or bring the entire family to savour the day together.

Take Dad to Corsa Cycles to pick out some new bike gear then head over to the Garibaldi / Diamond Head zone for some time on two wheels. Don’t miss our signature machine build trail Half Nelson, a local's favourite well suited for beginner, intermediate and advanced riders!

9. Jump at Airhouse Sports Academy (Dads jump free!)

10. Treat Dad to Dinner

Take Dad to one of Squamish's many eateries, special for Father's Day the Copper Coil Still & Grill is offering their Copper Burger and House Lager for $21.50. 

11. Take an Afternoon Hike

Trail time is quality time, making it a great way to catch up on all the little things in life that are worth sharing. You can view a list of recommended trails here. For those looking for a mellow walk, we suggest the trail network above the Sea to Sky Gondola. Cardio crushers may enjoy the first peak of the Stawamus Chief.

June 16th - Squamish Street Market

The Squamish Street Market returns this Father's Day, June 16 featuring market vendors, live art, food trucks and plenty of live music. There will also be a beer and cider garden featuring Backcountry Brewing, Norman Rudy's and Northyards Cider Co. All ages welcome, 

July 6th - Squamish Beer Festival

Celebrate Father's Day with tickets to the upcoming Squamish Beer Festival. Tickets are on sale now for the annual half-day event where over 2000 beer lovers will come together to celebrate their passion for great beer and mountain culture.
