Spring Break in Three Days, Two Nights
It’s official, the kids are out of school for two weeks.
Spring break in Squamish means fresh air, easy adventures, and days that naturally fill themselves. This three-day, two-night itinerary highlights some of the best places to eat, play, and unwind as a family.
Day 1: Snow Much Fun and Indoor Play
Kick off your spring break escape with breakfast at Zephyr Café, a unique local spot known for its hearty breakfasts and eye-catching art installations. It’s a great place to fuel up before a day of fun.
From Zephyr, drive over to Whistler Olympic Park, located 30 minutes north on the Sea to Sky Highway. Here, the family can try Nordic skiing, tobogganing, or even biathlon. Explore the beauty of the surrounding area at your own pace, and maybe even try something new together.
When you’ve worked up an appetite, it’s time for lunch at the Whistler Olympic Park Day Lodge Café. Enjoy a delicious hot meal indoors, with options like soups, chili, grilled cheese or chicken fingers, perfect for warming up after playing in the snow.
After lunch, head back to Squamish to enjoy a late afternoon session at Tiny Tots Gym, a safe and welcoming space designed for younger children (typically ages 0–6) to climb, jump, and explore at their own pace. For families with older kids, Airhouse Sports Academy is a great alternative. This indoor trampoline and parkour-style space lets kids burn energy, challenge themselves, and have fun rain or shine.
Next, drive to House of Lager for dinner. The brewery and restaurant serves dishes like brisket sandwiches, Dutch fries, and salads alongside crisp lagers on tap. Chat about your day on their covered, heated patio with an awesome view of Howe Sound.
After dinner, take the family for a walk beside House of Lager at Sp’akw’us Feather Park. This easy, paved waterfront park is stroller-friendly and offers open space to wander, beach access, and great views across Howe Sound. With public art, a playground, and plenty of room to pause and take it all in, it’s an easy, relaxed way to round out the afternoon.
Enjoy a restful night at Sunwolf Riverside Resort. Stay in one of their cozy riverside cabins offering a peaceful forest setting with all the comforts of home, a perfect way to wind down after a full day of exploring.
Day 2: Mountain Views and Active Adventures
Kick off your morning just steps from Sunwolf Riverside Resort at Fergie’s Café, a beloved local spot known for its brunch and excellent coffee. It’s an easy place to relax while the kids play on the lawn. Don’t miss the charming Greenhouse at Fergie's Cafe, filled with locally made treats and gifts to take home.
With everyone fueled for the day, take the family on a ride up the Sea to Sky Gondola. The scenic ride lifts you high above the stunning Howe Sound, offering panoramic views of mountains and ocean. At the summit, explore easy and groomed hiking trails, lookout points, and the suspension bridge. If the weather permits, you can go ice skating, tobogganing or snowshoeing. This stop is great for families with kids of varying ages and abilities.
While at the top of the Sea to Sky Gondola, stop for lunch at the Sky Pilot Smokehouse. With classics like poutine and pulled pork sandwiches, it’s an easy, satisfying option, and the views don’t hurt either.
After lunch, keep the adventure going at Ground Up Climbing Centre. This 8,000-square-foot indoor facility features roped climbing walls, bouldering areas, and a dedicated kids’ zone designed to build confidence and skills in a fun way. With routes for all levels and gear rentals available, it’s an accessible and engaging activity.
For dinner, head to Pepe’s Chophouse & Seafood for a variety of kid-approved options like spaghetti and quesadillas. The adults can pair one of many signature cocktails with their meal. Wiped out from the day? Order online for delivery or pick up so you can enjoy one of Squamish’s awesome restaurants from your private accommodation.
Day 3: Nature, Air and Games
Wake up with breakfast at Bean & Co., located a short drive from Sunwolf Riverside Resort. Choose from a selection of fresh and flavorful breakfast sandwiches, wraps and baked goods. Don’t forget to grab a coffee or hot chocolate to complete the meal.
After breakfast, spend your morning exploring Squamish Canyon. The elevated boardwalk winds you through the forest and along the canyon. On-site they have Little Cedars Playground where kids can climb and play while the adults can sit back and relax at the Forest Lounge. It’s a memorable way for families to spend quality time together while taking in Squamish’s natural beauty.
Near the Squamish Canyon is your next stop, Shannon Falls, a must-see 335 meter (1,105 foot) waterfall. There is an accessible boardwalk where you can view the spectacular falls and feel the mist on your skin. You might even spot some rock-climbers in action as this area is a mecca for climbing.
For lunch, head to The Backyard, a laid-back pub serving great food and refreshing drinks. Dig into classics like cheeseburgers, chicken wings, and Caesar salad, while the older kids play a round of pool or darts. If the sun is shining, grab a seat on the patio and soak up a little vitamin D.
After lunch, take to the skies with a helicopter tour by Black Tusk Helicopters. Their tours offer breathtaking views of the mountains, ocean, rivers, glaciers and forests. They even have a glacial landing option so you and the family can spend some quality time on Mount Tantalus’ glacier. Prefer to soar by plane? Book a flight with Sea to Sky Air, which offers both floatplane and wheeled aircraft tours, giving families a chance to soar over Howe Sound, the Stawamus Chief, and the dramatic Coast Mountains from a whole new perspective.
Wrap up your family’s spring break escape with dinner at Lil Chef Bistro. This charming eatery grinds and smokes its own meats and crafts its own sauces. With a menu full of comforting dishes like ravioli, grilled cheese and bruschetta, it’s a great spot to end your trip on a delicious note.
