Family Explorer Itinerary

Day 1
Start your trip with a tour of copper mining history at Britannia Mine Museum, visitors are advised to book ahead of time due to reduced museum capacity. During your tour, you will head underground for a live drilling demonstration and a chance to experience total darkness. Be sure to catch BOOM! the hit multimedia experience inside historic Mill no.3.
Stop in for to-go lunch at onsite Chatterbox Cafe and enjoy the stunning views across the street from the museum at Britannia Beach.
Spend the afternoon enjoying one of Squamish's beautiful mountain lakes:
Plan A
Take the family for a swim at Alice Lake Provincial Park. There is a small beach area, swim out docks, a kids bike park and lots of trails to explore. Reduced parking is in effect, and trail access features directional signage. The best time to visit is 2-4 pm or after 6 pm.
Plan B
Drive a little further down the highway to Brohm Lake Recreation Site. The large & deep lake is great for swimming and has plenty of beaches around its perimeter. The loop trail around the lake takes approximately 1-2 hours to walk and is 3.5km roundtrip—the best time to visit in the late afternoon.
Enjoy a family dinner at Firebread Restaurant at Howe Sound Brewing in downtown Squamish, known for their wood-fired pizza and fantastic views of the Stawamus Chief.

Day 2
Rise early to go for breakfast at the Crabapple Cafe, their kid's menu is a crowd-pleaser and features kid classics such as pancakes as well as healthier fare.
After breakfast, check out the Railway Museum of BC. The park is open on Saturdays and long weekends from July 1 - September 7, plan your visit accordingly. At the park, there are plenty of new train rides to keep you entertained, including mini-rail, speeder car and big train rides, which are all included in your family admission. The 12-acre park also houses a replica, turn of the century railway town complete with a train-themed playground for kids.
When you've worked up an appetite head to the sunny patio at nearby Free Bird Table & Oyster Bar to refuel for lunch. Kids are welcome to play on the fields in front of the patio.
Keep the fun going with an afternoon outing on the water - boating is super fun for the whole family! Check out the options for sailing excursions and boat tours, there's a number of ways you can get out and enjoy the waters of Howe Sound.
Cap off the day with a delicious dinner from the Squamish Valley Golf Course. Their patio also includes plenty of wide-open space for kids to play while you enjoy the parkland views.
