Whitewater Rafting
Squamish is quickly becoming one of BC’s top whitewater rafting destinations, and if you can manage to take your eyes off the water even for a moment you’ll soon discover why. Experience the rush on one of Squamish's two main rivers for an authentic whitewater rafting adventure you won't easily forget.
Cheakamus River
The Cheakamus River offers Class 1 and 2 rapids (easy, moving water) which makes it a great option for family whitewater rafting adventures. Expect to see classic views of Mount Garibaldi and the southern slopes of the Tantalus Mountain Range as you float down the river. Family-trips down the Cheakamus River are about 7km in length and last about an hour to an hour and a half.
Elaho-Squamish River
Along the more challenging Class 3 and 4 fast-flowing rapids of the Elaho-Squamish River, prepare to witness the world’s most glaciated mountain range at its latitude with 180-degree views of Mount Cayley and Mount Garibaldi along with old-growth forests, cliffs, waterfalls, and wildlife including mountain goats, eagles bears and deer. Trips down the Elaho-Squamish River range between two and a half to three hours in length for a 20km trip.
A range of half-day and full-day options including lifejackets and necessary equipment are available for varying ages and skill levels. Advance bookings are recommended.
