Squamish Wind Festival

The Squamish Wind Festival is an annual event that celebrates arts, culture and community through music, art shows, cinema, and more in Junction Park, downtown Squamish. The free for all ages event is expected to draw a crowd of over 3000 people, making it one of the largest free festivals in the community. 

Highlights for this year’s festival include an open-air movie night, musical entertainment for the day featuring headliner Hey Ocean!, and an artisan market that will be double the size as last year. 



7 pm - 9 pm: Emerging Artists Concert
This special edition of Amped in the Park features up and coming performers from Squamish! 


6 pm - Sundown: Community Pre-show
Stake your spot for the film and enjoy free pre-show activities including local food trucks and performances from local community groups. 

Sundown - 11:30 pm: Movie Under the Stars Presented by Squamish Savings
Join us in celebrating the art of cinema by enjoying a free open-air screening of Black Panther (action, adventure, rated PG). 


10 am - 3 pm

Artisan Market
Shop the stalls for locally made home décor, jewelry, clothing and more. 
Workshops and Activations
Take part in making a mosaic (registration required/limited space), witness live carving with renowned artist Xwalacktun, craft with Up with Art, or BYOT (t-shirt) to have it screen printed right on site. Also, don’t miss out on the outdoor art exhibit, featured artist display curated by Diane Rudge, circus performers, live buskers, axe-throwing, visual arts, kids zone, Jazz the Balloon Man, and face painting. All workshops are free to participate in!

Local Music Corner

Featuring Squamish locals in Stan Clarke Park with artisans: Will Ross, Cat Madden, Marc Charron and Matt Blackman.

10 am -10:45 am: Ira Pettle - Mainstage
Bring the whole family to come groove with the one and only Ira Pettle! 

12 pm - 12:40 pm: John Welsh & Los Valientes - Mainstage
Nominated for world music artist of the year 2018 by WCMA this group has a sound that blends Latin, West African and reggae rhythms. 

1 pm - 2:30 pm: Hey Ocean!
Headlining this year for the festival Hey Ocean is to many the quintessential West Coast band featuring three Vancouverites. The band’s roots, name, and many of their lyrics hark back to the Pacific shores they call home.
