Canada Day Event
Happy Birthday Canada!
Canada Day celebrations return to Downtown Squamish on Sunday, July 1 2018. Festivities will be held in Junction Park along with a People Powered Procession starting at Winnipeg and Cleveland at 10:00am. The parade will lead into the Squamish Cenotaph where we will raise the flag with our Local Legion, First Nations and Mayor. Followed by our Canadian Cake Cutting Ceremony sponsored by Save On Foods.
It’s a jam-packed day of activities including live music, a vendor aisle, kids zone, food trucks, car show, free birthday cake and a flourishing beer garden. This is an event not to miss! The vendor aisle is full of local artisans, local food trucks, and local entertainment from 11am to 10pm.
Our local Squamish-based Howe Sound Brewing Company will be featured at the beer garden which opens at 11:30am.
This year’s Canada Day event will have an all-star line up of performers on the U’Siyam Pavilion starting at 11am. Performers include Will Ross, Carolyn Grass and Friends, The Overcomers, The Wells, The Splinters, Squamish Academy of Music, Squamish Dance Centre, Zombie Roof, Bluesberry Jam Showband, The Jocelyn Pettit Band and Howe Sound Dance Academy.
New to the festivities this year is the Canada Day classic car show-taking place in front of August Jack Motel. Come check out some beautiful classic cars on display throughout the day.
