Sea to Sky Gallery presents Indigenous Carver, George Stokes

George Stokes is a Coast Salish carver and artist mostly know for his traditional yellow and red cedar wood carvings.

Under mentorship of hid uncle, Cody Mathias, he began his journey in 1985. In 1986 he was invited to assist Bill Reid and Don Yeomans in carving a totem pole, which can currently be found at the Vancouver's Kitsilano Secondary School.
In 2010, Stokes graduated from the Northwest Coast Jewellery Arts Program at the Native Eductation College.

George Stokes will be speaking on Tuesday, June 23 from 5 PM to 7 PM with all of his carvings at the Sea to Sky Gallery.

Free admission and and all your support is greatly appreciated for this legendary Carver of 41 years.
