10 Ways to Play: Easy Rider

Squamish is famous for its mountain biking scene but it’s not all advanced trails with jumps, bridges and berms. There are many trails that are perfect for little groms and beginners, flat trails that still take you into Squamish’s incredible coastal temperate rainforest, along the rivers and ocean. With over 300 kilometres of developed trails, there’s a path here that everyone can roll along and enjoy.

With so much to discover, don’t let it intimidate you! Squamish’s local mountain bike culture is friendly and welcoming. Want to get a handle on our endless kilometres of trails? We’ve summed up the key areas for biking in this handy blog.

We highly recommend ‘dialing in’ a local professional to help you get the most out of your biking experience. Dialed In Cycling is a mountain bike school and guiding company that provides exciting, safe and diverse programs that share the joy of mountain biking with people of all ages and abilities. Sign up for a private lesson or tours and their certified guides will tailor a ride just for you so you can discover Squamish’s best trails. They have bike rentals on site and also offer family tours that include 2 certified, kid-friendly instructors that will take you on the most fun filled adventure on two wheels!

Over at Blazing Saddles Adventures, you can rent electric cruiser or mountain bikes and venture out on a self-guided or guided tour. Known for their eco-tours, these excursions allow for a mellow pace that takes you through the thriving eco-system at work and journey into areas like the Squamish estuary, along rivers and more. Learning about salmon, eagles, wildlife and local waterways as you bike is totally ‘new school’ and at Blazing Saddles they are all about the stoke and making sure everyone has their best day of riding in Squamish that they can.

Be sure to try their most popular menu item – pizza! Alternately, the Squamish Valley Golf Clubhouse is the perfect spot to take the family after a day of cruising the trails.
